Nightwatchman Dine-around
From the highest tower down into the deepest cellar
Two nigthwatchmen/women wearing traditional clothing and carrying a halberd, bugle and lantern welcome the guests by singing the famous nightwatchman song “Hark ye ladies and gentlemen and hear me tell…”. On this Nightwatchmen Dine-around tour they lead the group through the eventful past of the medieval Romantic Town of Steyr stopping at surprise destinations. After enjoying a sparkling wine welcome drink at one of the 10 nightwatchmen restaurants the group sets out on this very special night walk through Steyr.

With breathtaking view of Steyr‘s old town, 228 steps
3 - appetizers at the Steyrer Kripperl | e.g. 7:00 pm
Presentation of medieval craftsmen’s scenes by the oldest still performing stick puppet theatre (since 1850), 455 puppets, Steyr dialect, duration approx. 10 min.
4 - “Steyrdorf soup” by candlelight | e.g. 8:00 pm
at the Michaelerkeller 2-storey vaulted ceiling cellar dating back to the 15th/16th century, halls with cross barrel vaulted ceiling, cobblestone paving, former wine cellar of the Michaelerkirche church, presentation of the oldest existing films of Steyr, coloured Steyr lanterns to take home, medieval musicians.
5 - course dinner and dessert at the nightwatchman restaurant | e.g. 8:45 pm
after the nightwachtmen have taken their leave
